Essential Oils: The Secret on Which One to Use

In this post, we cover how to find answers for ailments you’re dealing with using essential oils. We look at what resources are out there and how to get the most out of them.

Plus what do you look at when everything you have tried so far hasn’t worked…

What essential oils should we use for what ailments and how and where do we find that essential oil?

So Lacey and I, (my wife) have been in this wellness journey since forever. It has been so long that sometimes you’ll just forget what it takes to do that.

The first thing you do is ask the person that introduced you to oils or find somebody who is with doTERRA like us and we will help you find the answers. When we first started we didn’t know anything and we had what we basically call our essential oil bible that we carried around with us everywhere.

It is gigantic, and still, I never left the house without it. It is called the Essential Life book.

The book was super handy because you can look up exactly whatever is bothering you and it gives you a suggestion for it.

For example Lyme Disease. A lot of people are familiar with Lyme Disease, it is a huge and rising issue. So in the book, it will tell you what it is, and it will give you the top five oils to use and how to use those five oils.

It is not just that it also tells you to go at the back of the book to know more information about that particular need.

I really love this resource book. In fact, I still turn to this resource on a regular basis because it’s full of other things. It has protocols, procedures for cleaning and cooking, you name it, it has it!

I would never not have this book. It is that helpful.

Once in a while, you will have this person in your life that isn’t so much into essential oils but wants to sneak in every once in a while and learn a little something without you knowing it.

BUT, then some people don’t want a textbook. They are done with college and high school, and don’t want any more of that textbook.

You know what? I get it.

And we also have the answer to that… the Essential Oils Expanded.

And yes, it has expanded in its title but it is actually the shorter version, and it is the size of the half of a textbook. Yep, deal with it.

So the Essential Oils Expanded has the recommendations spot on and has proven to be really good for us.

Symphony of the Cells, Essential Oil Guidebook

You can get the book here:

It’s a little bit shorter of a list in terms of what’s in there, but still, you get a good idea of what you can use for each need. It has hives, heartburn, heart disease, hematoma, hemorrhoids, hepatitis solutions, you name it. Everything is listed here. You can just find an actual protocol and the oils that will most help you with that specific situation.

What if you don’t want a book, what is the next option?

This is actually something that we made just to make it even easier for people to have a really quick list of ways to use the oils in the home.

We made a magnet. yes, a magnet that you can slap on anything that is made of metal. We have one in a locker in our house. You can put it on your refrigerator, it’s just a really convenient way to figure out what to use for any specific thing. And we put the top needs.

Everything from first aid to emotions to cooking and then specific ailments like tummy aches, insomnia, headaches, reflux, infection, earaches, those kinds of things. It got an essential oil solution for it.

With this shortlist you don’t even need to open the book. It will be just right there on your fridge. And it’s kinda pretty too. So it’s not gonna dirty up your fridge with anything ugly.

You can just save the picture below and print it and boom! You have one with you whenever you go now.

Essential Oil’s Symphony of Cells Books

Another set of protocols that we should keep in mind are the Symphony of the Cells, and Aromatouch. These are great resources.

Actually, these go hand in hand. They are kind of in partnership. These two go together.

You can have the Symphony of the Cells without the Aromatouch BUT if you have Aromatouch then you’ll know more about the Symphony of the Cells.

But for now, we’ll talk about the more comprehensive one, which is the Symphony of the Cells protocols.

Symphony of the Cells protocols are just a system of applying the oils to the back and the feet in a way that really boosts your body’s immune system or your circulation system, whatever it is that you’re working on, you can pick specifically. And it really pinpoints different things like cardiovascular, emotional, hormone system, skin, nervous system, respiratory, cellular system.

It helps you identify which protocol to use for each of those issues.

Symphony of the Cells, an Essential Oil Guidebook

So I’m gonna give you a quick peek inside. There is this thing called a Maxim Protocol and once you have it you’ll see what it is good for. It lists all those different things that it’s good for. Like Lupus, shingles, Addison’s disease, Lyme disease, soft tissue sarcoma, and other heavy hitters for people dealing with any kind of inflammation or cellular issue.

And there’s an infectious disease protocol. For example, it has sensory protocols so people dealing with sensory issues or children may be on the spectrum or adults on the spectrum, it’s incredible.

I love absolutely this resource. And it’s very small. So whenever I need it I just pull it out when we use it whenever we’re dealing with one of those specific conditions. Feels amazing.

To sum it up. If you’re new to essential oils, and you have an issue pop up… something that you don’t know anything about, you want to know what body system it’s in and how to treat it but you don’t know where to start even with all the resources then all you got to do is… talk to your friend.

We have a great usage group online too. If you’re not in there, then start getting in and get great information from an online community of about 4,000 people and growing, who are all using the oils and learning about the oils on a regular basis.

Be careful of your resources

I think my biggest word of advice on that is, just be careful of the internet. Because what you’ll find information-wise on essential oils is just all over the board.

You really need to find somebody who’s got experience and resources that are reliable.

It’s not just somebody’s opinion, not just somebody’s effort to hit on a hot topic and get a lot of people on their blog.

Dig a little deeper and find resources that are connected to science, research and actual evidence to show how good or effective or safe these different products are.

That’s one of my favorite reasons for loving doTERRA so much. Their goal is to make sure that we feel equipped and that we’re dealing with products that are beyond all the safety measures that are even out there.

Because of their purity and connection to research that doTERRA is very adamant about having. I think we’re so privileged to be able to work with a company that has put all of that at the forefront. Education is huge and it’s something that we just are super passionate about.

My two go-to’s now are these two Symphony of the Cells books and Essential Oil Expanded. A lot of times I’ll look it up in those books. So for any issue now, that’s my go-to when I have people texting me and asking me.

And one last good source that I can think of is the Essential Life app. So go and check it out and see for yourself how good it is.

What to use for finding emotional health with essential oils

Speaking of resources, there is another book that we didn’t mention above but we really love having it. It’s very pinpointed just to the essential oils for emotions, which is such a key element.

A lot of times those emotions are the root causes of our disease. And so if we don’t deal with those underlying issues or those chronic mood issues then we aren’t gin actually see the healing we need to see anyway.

It gives you some really great ideas and charts for ways to deal with emotions with oils.

And it also tells you the quality of each oil. So for example, if you’re looking for more abundance, use wild orange. Wild orange is the oil of abundance. Which is awesome because it’s also our least expensive oil.

What a great combo. Use the heck outta that.

If you’re dealing with an issue and you can’t get a good result, going to the emotions book is huge. ‘Cause a lot of times, as Lacey said, that’s where it is. And it takes a little bit of digging, but don’t overlook the emotions.

So there you go, these are our treasure trove of resources for our essential oil life. We hope it has been useful to you and will still be useful to you in the future. If you have any questions hit us in the comments or email us! That’s all and have a good life!

Need a recipe for joints pain but I take lithium clozapine and seizure meds also beta blockers trazadone What essential oils do not interact to be able to use for pain

thank you for writing! any of our oils will be ok to use while using those medications. I would use a blend we have called deep blue, also our turmeric capsules would be great to use. The turmeric is a special combination of turmeric essential oil and turmeric powder that makes it 11x more effective than anything else you will find. The other oil I would explore is an essential oil called Copaiba. It helps a lot of people with pain and works with the CBD receptors. It is not a CBD oil though. In my opinion, it works better and you don’t have to worry about the lack of regulations you find in the cbd industry.
