I knit this aviator cap a few weeks ago for the new one and while I enjoyed (throat clearing) it, I think it was for all the wrong reasons. The pattern, for me, seemed off. Again, I am a novice knitter and everything I do know I learned here or via the internet at large. So, the hat seems wonky–which I knew about 16 rows in, but it’s not in my nature to ‘frog’–as they say. I’m too hopeful that what seems lost may be found.
Anyway, still need to add a tie via an idiot chord–should be able to swing that 😉 and maybe next time I’ll follow this pattern and have more success…(seriously, what’s with the point?!)
And I just wanted to share a treasury that I put together in memory of my Grandfather. It’s the second one in a series (the other is Ode to Ethel, his sister, my great aunt). The whole process is pretty sweet, seems simple enough to create a treasury, but it takes me time and brain power to think on things I don’t like I should. For me each person was whole and complete and I can nearly smell them when I think about them, but for anyone else these little odes are a glimpse into their story…

The hat is super super cute. I want to learn how to knit. I know how to cast on, knit, purl, but there is so much lacking when you don't know how to read a pattern!
i agree! it takes me triple as long to make anything b/c I spend the majority of the time trying to figure out what k2tog bs means!
What a delightful little hat… and I love the little pixie looking out of the window 🙂
